I have a huge interest in modern technology.I know the basics of driving a computer and with the help online manage to sort any problems that may arise both at work and at home. Can anyone give me some tips on where to start and what courses for beginners i should focus on to get toward an eventual goal of MCSE Certification.

If you are interested in Networking and your end goal is MCSE, I would suggest you A+ and Network+ Certifications to start with.
A+ Certification: If you are getting ready for a career as an entry-level information technology (IT)professional or personal computer (PC) service technician, the CompTIA A+ Certification course is the first step in your preparation. The course will build on your existing user-level knowledge and experience with personal computer software and hardware to present fundamental skills and concepts that you will use on the job. In this course, you will acquire the essential skills and information you will need to install, upgrade, repair, configure, troubleshoot, optimize, and perform preventative maintenance of basic personal computer hardware and operating systems.
Network+ Certification: This course teaches the fundamentals of networking and prepares students for the Network+ certification exam. Through hands-on training and exercises students learn the vendor-independent skills and concepts necessary for all networking professionals.
A+ and Network+ Certification also can be used toward as an elective of Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
