How long will my certification for mcts be valid?

All new generation certifications, including Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), and Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD), retire when Microsoft discontinues mainstream support for the related technology. After a credential retires, it still appears on your transcript but is listed as "retired." In most cases, an upgrade path is available for individuals holding that credential to demonstrate their skills on the newest version of the technology without completing all exams associated with the new credential. This policy does not apply to legacy credentials, including MCDST, MCSE, and MCAD. The legacy credentials do not retire; they continue to hold their value in the marketplace as long as there is a need for IT professionals with these skills.
