could anyone tell me when MS is planning to retire the current exams for mcse2003??i know all exams relating to win/server 2000 have been retired in march last year, but these are relating more to the exams such as 70-290, 70-291, 70-293, 70-294, 70-297, 70-284, 70-285 .
There is no set date for these exams to be retired yet. Microsoft doesn’t retire any exam until mainstream support for the product is still available. According to Microsoft support lifecycle site, Server 2003 mainstream support will be available till 7/13/2010, so we can say for sure, it’s not retiring before this date. I would guess after this date, they will slowly phase out these exams and certification; the way Microsoft is phasing out MCAD and MCSD.

- MCSE 2003 to 2008 I already have MCSE 2003, and would like to know what exam I would need to pass in order to become certified in Server 2008. The certification planner isnt very clear! Thanks!
- Does 70-621: upgrade MCDST to MCITP count as Elective for MCSE ? Here is the certifications I passed, and I can say the Design Exam (297) is the most difficult exam I ever passed (in my life). The first one I passed was the 70-215 6 years ago, but that was still on Windows 2000. Then I passed them in the following order: 271, 272, 621, 270, 290, 291, 293, 297. Now I believe I only need 294 (core) to become MCSE certified. But a teacher told me today that my 621 may not be elective, as it is not really a 620, but just an upgrade. That scares me, I am preparing the 294, and really hope it is the last exam I have to prepare to be finally MCDST, MCITP, MCSA, and MCSE. - Does the MCSE 2003 Expire? Can someone point me in the direction of the document that shows certification renewal/expiration info? I'm assuming that the MCSE does expire, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm coming up on my 3 year anniversary as an MCSE and I want to make sure there is nothing that I should do. Thanks in advance!
